The Austin Aztex (2-1-0) start a six game home stand at House Park 7:30 p.m this Saturday against the El Paso Patriots (1-0-1), the first that handed the Aztex the club’s first defeat last weekend.
With another week passing, it means more college players have joined the Aztex squad. Three players who have started at the college level have arrived and are practicing with the team including: midfielder Dillon Powers, the University of Notre Dame captain and former U.S. U-20 player, Michael Lisch, the starting keeper for Wake Forest and former Westlake High player, and Wesley Curtis, who played in 18 games for Michigan State.
“I am pretty impressed with the talent level here,” Powers said. “You never really know what you are going to get with a new team, and the standard has been great so far.”
